Hairstyles
Hairstyles come in many different flavors. And throughout the ages they have changed almost with the seasons. Sometimes radical, sometimes actually attractive, but always new and individual.
Once we had braids, ringlets and sausage curls. Hair even went down to floor length with some women. In the 1920s there was the bobbed hairstyles. This was among the first of the rebellious hairstyles of the 20th century, but not the last.
The 1930s and 1940s had their particular styles too, as did the 50s and 60s, when women had some exotic styles, including the strange coiffures. But men of the 50s had a strange style too, including one called a DA, which referred to the appearance of the rear end of a duck! The 60s was also the time when men had Beatles' haircuts; a simple style that had a straight cut across the front with no parting in the middle.
Later in the 60s the hippie era introduced long hair again. There was no particular style - just long unruly hair that was allowed to grow to its ultimate length, and which was often adorned with flowers.
Today you can have any of the many hairstyles you want. Anything goes, though often young women follow the styles of famous actresses, or sportswomen. It's likely that there will be no end to the variety of possibilities that we can style our hair in. Unlike many other things, having hairstyles will never go out of fashion, whatever they may look like.
